Workshop attendance

A doctoral student (Dler Mohammad Salh Sharef) in the Chemistry department at the college of Science has been selected for the 7th international DTTG Workshop. DTTG Workshop, is an international workshop on qualitative and quantitative analysis of clays and clay minerals and it is organized every two years in cooperation with the German Soil Science Society - DBG. The workshop focuses on the needs of graduate students and PhD students in the field of clay science. The workshop will be consist of theoretical lectures and laboratory exercises. Therefore, the number of participants is limited to 15 persons. Topics of the workshop are: Different aspects of XRD of clay minerals including QPA with the Rietveld method, physicochemical properties of clay minerals and their quantification (CEC, charge, surface), simultaneous thermal analysis, aspects of sorption, as well as the application of electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy in clay research.

Fulbright is an international prestigious recognized program the program is fully funded from the U.S Government and choose talented students to pursue their higher education degree in the U.S.A .

Mohammed Baban presented his MSc dissertation on 15/01/2017 at college of science. his MSc supervised by Dr. Dler H. Baban Assist Professor at college of science/geology department in university of Sulaimaniyah. Mohammed's dissertation was discussed by a committee. members of the committee were  Dr Fawzi M. Al-Bayaty Assist Professor ( president) Institute Technology of kirkuk, Dr Govand H. Sherwani Assist Professor (member) minister high education, Dr. Fuad M. Qadir.Lecturer (member) University of sulaimani and Dr. Dler H. Baban Assist Professor (member and Supervisor) University of Sulaimaniyah

Hezha O. Rasul, Assistant Lecturer at the Chemistry Department of University of Sulaimani has been selected by Erasmus Mundus (Marhaba)- Action 2 Lot 3 project. She visited the Laboratory of Molecular Virology at University of Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy; Also she was participating in most of the researches that have been done during her stay in the laboratory for one month. In addition, Chemistry Department is proud of her participation in 3rd Innovative Approaches for Identification of Antiviral Agents Summer School. The event was held on September 28th until October 3rd 2016 in Pula- Italy, and Hezha was the first participant from Iraq to attend this program. The Summer School was hosted 40 young scientists and a maximum of 20 senior scientists. 


Keeping and Enhancing front gardens of college of science

 The department of Chemistry offer many courses of study leading to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in different branches of Chemistry. The Ph.D. Programs contain information about student admissions requirements and specific grades for the test of each programs are also provided because, In many subjects, students are required to take an admissions test as part of their application. 50% marks are on general questions and another 50% are on specific questions related to the subject.
